My Volunteer Trip to Zambia

Hey everyone! In October I will be headed to Zambia with an organization called IVHQ (International Volunteer Headquarters).
IVHQ is a volunteer travel company focused on providing affordable volunteer travel experiences that are high quality, safe, and responsible. IVHQ aims to increase education and heighten global awareness and understanding through the skills and expertise taken by volunteers to their host communities, and through the experiences and lessons that volunteers take back to their own countries and cultures.
With a significant portion of children living under the poverty line in Zambia, many of these vulnerable children suffer from poor hygiene, inadequate education, insufficient food and little to no healthcare. Individualized attention and a focus on early development and education are crucial to breaking the cycle of poverty in Zambia. While on the Childcare project, I will work in orphanages, childcare facilities for underprivileged children, nursery schools, or a special needs facility. Volunteer work is focused on mentoring, basic informal teaching, helping with homework, giving attention and affection, meals, cleaning, helping with the general running of the home/facility and interacting with the children through games, singing, dancing, sports and arts and crafts.
The money I am raising will cover my registration and program fees which include: lodging in Livingstone, meals, orientation/training, airport pick-up, program supervision, and in-country administration costs. In addition, I'm raising money towards expenses not included in IVHQ which will include: airfare, vaccinations, visa and travel expenses. Since I will be working with the childcare program, any extra money will be used to fund school supplies, craft supplies, and recreational supplies for the children at the orphanage.
I'm beyond excited to be given this opportunity to help so many young lives. My true passion in helping children should exceed by far during my volunteer experience. ANY donation will help and is greatly appreciated. A single dollar can go a long way! Thank you in advance for your love and support.
