Help with medical and travel expenses

Aloha, my name is Marci and I’m fundraising for my friend Rona who recently had a ruptured aneurysm while working on her shift as a certified nurse’s aide. She passed out in the middle of her shift and was rushed to the acute hospital and after imaging results confirmed diagnosis, she was med-evac to Oahu where they can better provide her needs. She has undergone craniotomy that took almost 6 hours. She is currently stable and family is awaiting for further testing to determine her current cognitive status.

My dear friend Ronalyn, or “Rona” as we call her is a loving, generous, caring mother of two boys ages 10 and 6 whom she’s raising with her supportive husband Glen. She is a self-less, self-sacrificing wife, daughter, sister and friend. She is the family’s pillar and foundation, her family which comprised of 5 sisters and 3 brothers, trusted her wisdom and practicality in their decision making and the general operations of their household. She has showed all of us friends that there is nothing love and understanding can’t overcome. She is very industrious, committed and persevering at her work. As a nurse aide in a long term care facility, her heart for good, empathetic care for the residents are evident with how she makes sure that they are treated like they’re her own mother or father. I know her quality of work as I’ve worked with her for many years and her cleanliness, her ideas that elevate the quality of life of the residents/patients, her concern, spirit of advocacy and compassion when they’re sick or at the end of their journey exemplifies the hard-working Filipino immigrant story that we are so proud to tell!

We’re asking for your generosity no matter how much, that the family may be helped with some of the airfare expenses and possible medical bills that may arise. Her husband would have to be off of work to be with her in Oahu, and we’d like to relieve some of the financial burden that comes with this situation.

Rona loves the Lord and we are asking that we rally in prayer that God’s will may prevail and her family be comforted and reassured with God’s love and care. She is a fighter for the good and I believe that she will fight for her kids, to be able to come home to them and continue to raise them to be God-fearing men.
