Save Tyrkin!

Tyrkin is 7 years old. Kirk and I adopted him from a friend who fostered kitties when we lived in Saint Louis, MO. As far as we know he was born missing his right front paw from the elbow down. When he wants attention he will reach out to you with his stubby leg!
We knew from the beginning that he was always going to be a sick kitty. When he came to become a part of our family, he had a pretty bad upper respiratory infection. Over the years we have tried several treatments to clear up the infection. It would work for a bit, but always come back.
On January 4th, Tyrkin started a new symptom. Open mouth breathing. We took him to his doctor that same day, got a prescription, and was advised that if he was still doing open mouth breathing to bring him back. The frist week was great. He seemed like his normal self! After 1 week, we switched from daily dosing of his prescription to every 72 hours (as prescribed).
On January 15th everything took a turn for the worst. Kirk (his daddy) and I got home and Tyrkin was back to open mouth breathing. We took him to the emergency vet that night, and since then he has only been stable when in an oxygen kennel. We tried bringing him home on the night of the 16th, but his breathing was so labored we thought he wouldn't make it back the the ER for more oxygen. In that short amount of time, one of his lungs collapsed. The last couple days have been very scary. The doctors have tried several treatments, but so far he is not responding to any of them. When he is in the oxygen kennel he does great! But as soon as they take him off oxygen his breathing becomes extremely labored.
There are still more things we need to try, bit at this point the bill is getting higher than we can pay and our credit cards are getting maxed out. If we want any chance at saving his life, we need more funds. The goal amount is how much the doctors think the treatment plans will be for the next month. Please. Anything will help!
