Williams Recovery Journey! #KCstrong

William and his friends and family have asked me to set this up as well as let everyone knows what’s going on.
William has undergone 4 surgeries in the past week and will be needing help getting back on his feet , paying for prescription and medical expenses for his extensive stay here at the hospital. I’m the only source of income we have right now and I’ve been taking a lot of time off to be with him. I just would like to ask for anything to help with getting him home and comfortable with all the supplies and medications he will need and to not have to worry until recovery. Any extra will go towards his medical visits and Hospitals bills that we’ve accumulated and will continue to accumulate over the next couple months. I normally would not ask for any help as were both stubborn and try to tackle everything ourselves, but we’re needing some help this time.
We’ve been in and out of the hospital since the week before Christmas. It’s made things very difficult and William has been pretty restricted, as I imagine he will be after he will hopefully sooner than later be released. We’ve been battling these procedures since November with one hospital turning him down and sending him home instead of doing their job and doing the surgery that could have prevented this all from happening.
Just this visit alone His surgery has been really complicated, just one thing after another this will be his 3rd surgery in 3 days. The first one they took out the gallbladder and were hoping for just a routine surgery but we’ve ran into complications. he’s having internal bleeding and his body fluids are not draining where they should be. They then did another surgery and removed some of the blood from the hematoma and put in a new drain for the extra fluids. that seems to be working for now and he will have it for another 4-6 weeks. The same day they found other problems and performed another surgery this time down his throat to put a stint into his liver. He also had to have a stomach drain put down his throat through his nose because they are concerned with the amount of fluids building up in his GI track and they are worried about it getting into his lungs especially with his difficulties breathing. He’s been pretty out of it and Ive been really worried for him. They said this is in the top 5 of the worst gallbladder they have seen in 10 years. He hasn’t been resting well at night and we seem to hit our biggest road bumps at night with his fever sky rocketing and his vitals being pretty unstable. We’ve just been doing the best we can to keep him comfortable while they figure out what else is wrong and see if he starts doing better from here. Today 1/19/19 we have found out that he now has pancreatitis but so far it’s just a mild form and they are trying to keep it under control. He will probably struggle with this for awhile as well. Hopefully we are finished with roadblocks and can continue to move forward with the recovery process.
At this time neither of us have any medical insurance and I’ve made the decision today to stay here with him because he needs me and probably won’t return to work until we get him home. We deeply appreciate any help we can get!
For anyone that would like more information please feel free to message me. We really love and appreciate each and everyone of you.
