Help Me Walk Again with a New Prosthetic
Donation protected
In 2019, my leg was amputated. Recently, I had to have surgery and get the stump revised. Since 2019, I have changed my life for the better. Losing my leg was the best thing that could have happened to me. it made me a better man and I am now making better decisions.
I have a career that I am very good at and enjoy! I am on short-term disability. My health insurance has paid for 5 different prosthetic in the last year and has declined to cover the new one needed for the reconstructed stump. Previously my physician was attempting to fix the problem without having to do surgery. Bottom line, my health insurance will not pay for another prosthetic. I still have some healing before I can even wear a prosthetic. But i need a new prosthetic so I can go back to work. I can't do my job in a wheel chair. The old prosthetic does not fir since the revised stump. I will have to pay for the new prosthetic myself out of pocket. As you would expect they are very expensive. I can come up with most of it from my savings however I am still needing help. I still around $8,000 to pay for a new one. I am asking my friends and family for help so I may return to work as soon as my healing is complete. I didn't want to ask but at this point I am out of options. I applied for loans but have been turned down. This has been a long journey but I have changed my life for the better and I am becoming a better man. If you guys can find it in your heart to help I would truly appreciate. I have just worked so hard these past couple of years I just don't want to loss everything that I built for myself. Thank you again for listening and I love you
