Woodlake Pride 2023

We started this journey in 2022 because of some backlash regarding a family-friendly drag show at a local brewery during Pride Month. Instead of responding in anger, we decided to do what the queer community has done for years: THROW A PARTY! Within 5 weeks we organized an event that hosted 2 drag queen performances (including former Mrs. Gay North Carolina), a drag story hour, a food truck, a fully donated beer tent, and over a dozen volunteers! Our hard work paid off with more than 200 people in attendance and we raised over $3,000 for the LGBTQ+ Center of Durham. This year, with 5 months to plan, we are excited to take our pride and community support to the next level!

All proceeds from Woodlake Pride 2023 will benefit the Triangle Pride Band who have served and supported our community for years! We are excited to partner with them as we work to raise awareness and money for their great cause!
