6th Annual Low Country Orphan Relief Bookdrive

It is that time again!

This is my 6th year fundraising to support Lowcountry Orphan Relief for my Birthday.

My goal this year is 4K to help me celebrate the big 40!! Thank you so much for your support and please help me reach my goal!

This is such an amazing gift to give to this amazing organization if I could reach my goal of $4000. raised as this would result in $6000. in books being donated! That is GAME CHANGING for our local foster kids!

Here is a little info from their website for those who are not familiar with this amazing organization I have been involved with:

"Lowcountry Orphan Relief, Inc. (LOR) is a non-profit organization that provides goods and services to children who have been abused or neglected. We work directly with other non-profits, schools, foster parents, and government agencies to identify the individual needs of these and other children in severe situations. We intervene at critical junctures in the lives of these children, with products and services that provide a strong, positive impact. Since 2006, we have clothed over 28,000 children in the Tri-County area."

I LOVE to volunteer at LOR. It started from a coworker following them on Facebook, to us gathering toiletry donations from our coworkers, to us volunteering at the facility!  Every child that comes through gets at least 2 books. The books HAVE to be brand new or VERY gently used so that you cannot tell they have been used.  The content of the books is also carefully chosen.  Because of the situation for most of these kids, they cannot be about family, orphans, running away, etc.  You'd be surprised how few choices you're left with!

I am so thankful to have partnered with Nina to do this book drive with Usborne Books & More!  Usborne is an award winning children's book publisher and has MANY books that LOR would be able to use for the children. 

This fundraiser is also amazing because once we reach $500 raised, Usborne will MATCH every dollar raised 50%! This is such an amazing gift to give to this amazing organization if I could reach my goal of $4000. raised as this would result in $6000. in books being donated! That is GAME CHANGING for our local foster kids!
