6th Annual Teddy Rushing Ruck Sack Challange

November 11, 2011, 2nd Platoon Charlie Troop 3-71 Cavalry 3rd Brigade Combat team 10th Mountain Division was struck by a dismounted improvised explosive device. The explosion took the life of Private First Class Theodore Rushing (“Tink”).

I was directly behind Tink and can still recount the following moments as if it were yesterday. Rushing was smart, funny and he knew how to light up a room. From his personality to his infectious laugh he always drew attention from those around him. He was a hardworking, resilient soldier who everyday tried to get better then he was the day before.

This year is our 6th year in action and the Rushing family and I want to remember Tink’s sacrifice by supporting Veterans Village of San Diego (WWW.VVSD.NET). Our goal this year is to reach $5,000!

Veterans Village of San Diego (VVSD) has served all veterans since 1981 and is dedicated to “Leave No One Behind.” For forty years, VVSD has sought to provide services and support to our nation’s heroes.

This year we Want to join me in making a difference? I am going to step out on a 13.1 mile Ruck march and I'm raising money to benefit Veterans Village of San Diego, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
