Hi, we are Joe & Jenna Morrison. On June 26, 2022, just 3 weeks before our wedding, Joe became suddenly and severely sick. Within an hour he was rushed to the hospital. Within 24 hours, Joe's condition worsened. As a result, he was paralyzed from the chest down, along with a host of other complications, due to an incredibly rare and atypical diagnosis of Transverse Myelitis and Encephalomyelitis. After weeks in an acute care wing of Greenville Memorial Hospital, Joe was stable enough to begin rehab as a paraplegic at Roger C. Peace Rehabilitation Hospital.
After over 2 months, Joe has made great progress, but his road to recovery is still long. Despite the unimaginable hardships Joe has endured, during what should have been the happiest time of his life, his indomitable positivity has continued to shine through the darkest of times and inspire everyone who meets him.
Despite thousands of tests, an exact diagnosis for Joe's condition is still unknown, and as a result, a prognosis for recovery is also still unknown. While the unknown is scary, Joe and Jenna are still incredibly hopeful that Joe's full recovery is possible and that he will walk again. Due to the overwhelming outpouring of generosity of people near and far, we wanted to create a safe and secure place where those who want to donate to Joe’s recovery can do so. All donations will contribute towards Joe's medical and therapeutic recovery, as well as adaptive equipment that will help Joe be independent.
Thank you for your continued prayers, positivity and support for Joe and Jenna as they navigate this incredibly difficult time.
