Emergency Surgery for Arlo
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Sissy and the photo you see is of my boy Arlo. Arlo is an 8 year old Airedale Terrier who is a beloved (naughty) member of our family. We are a family of 3 on minimum wage single income with a newborn baby.
Our beautiful boy Arlo has had many health concerns over his lifetime that we have worked extremely hard to fund - from hip dysplasia requiring monthly zydac injections and physio, regular hot spot and allergy treatments and has previously had surgery to remove socks eaten, the list goes on…We love our boy so very much and don’t want him to be in pain.
We had thought our house was Arlo proof until he found one of our babies dummies and has eaten this whole (see below X-ray). Arlo now requires emergency surgery exceeding $5,000.
Times are extremely tough for us financially right now (as they are for a lot of people) and as it stands we will need to apply for a loan to fund this and have no idea if we will even be approved for one.
I’ve never been one to ask for help. I would be so appreciative on any help from anyone who is financially in the position to do so and I really hate to even ask this.
We tried everything to avoid surgery, induced vomiting and opted to try an endoscopy to remove the dummy and they both failed so now we have to pay for both the induced vomiting, endoscopy and now the major surgery.
Our baby has recently been in hospital with meningitis, this meant less income for us again. Any help would be appreciated more than you’ll ever know and we promise to always give back when we are in the position to do so.
UPDATE:
thank you everyone for your beautiful words of support and your extremely generous contributions. I am overwhelmed with the Airedale community and your loving and caring nature. Arlo is out of surgery and being monitored at the vets. The main thing is he survived so we are beyond grateful. Feeling so lucky right now and just can’t thank you all enough for your help, you truly have no idea how much this means to me.
