Support Kikki & Dennis’ dream; Rest. La Mar Chica

I've created this fundraising to support my dear friends Kikki and Dennis. With this action I hope that we can help them out by raising money for their restaurant as I am aware that they are facing challenging times due to the COVID-19 situation and restrictions.
In the beginning of 2019 Kikki and Dennis packed their bags and moved to Spain to open restaurant La Mar Chica in the small village Benalmádena Pueblo, on the Costa Del Sol.
The first year of realising their dream of opening a restaurant in a foreign country went well. Within just half a year they gained a lot of positive feedback, good reviews and they were even listed as the top restaurant to visit in their city Benalmádena - but best of all, the guest kept on returning.
Looking forward to a busy 2020 with lots of bookings, big group reservations, birthdays, a wedding and a long waiting list, unfortunately La Mar Chica was hit hard by the pandemic and was forced to close down completely for three months during spring as the entire country was in lockdown.
Around summer nothing was like normal so they kept the restaurant open three days a week instead of five, since many guests could not travel to Spain.
Fall came and yet again restaurant La Mar Chica was forced to close down the restaurant at 22.00 in the evening and finally they were forced to close down completely once again due to the pandemic.
At the moment, the restaurant has been closed since beginning of November due to restrictions, and with closed borders, there are just not enough people around, to keep the restaurant open.
Honestly I am amazed and impressed with Kikki and Dennis’ mindset, positivity and creativity. They are focused and they won’t let anything come in between their dream so they are now delivering gourmet delivery boxes to the nearby municipalities which supports them cover some of the fixed costs, such as rent, taxes, insurance etc.
With no support from the Spanish government they are fighting and hoping to stay afloat. Therefore I have decided to start this campaign as a way to honour and support my friends in their adventure. I truly hope for your support as well so we can visit their lovely restaurant when everything goes back to normal - hopefully sooner than later!
