Dicks Sports Barbers Edina relief fund

Donation protected

If there is one thing this pandemic has taught us is that you don't know what is possible until it happens.   As the owner of Dicks Sports Barbers of 52 years, and the very pulse of the neighborhood. It never crossed our mind that we would have to close our doors for anything and yet here we are in our 58th day of closure.

On March 18th 2020 Governor Walz issued our small business along with thousands of others in MN to close our doors due to the Covid-19 outbreak.  Close contact is required for barbers to do their work and that is currently unsafe.

We have 8 barbers and support staff that work on commission and receive no PTO  or other forms of income when they are not working.  Also vendors like the product suppliers, accountant, cleaners and even neighboring small businesses like Gear running store,Brueggers,The convention grill, Hello pizza that need small businesses like ours to stay alive so that they can remain open.

Your donation helps our employees get through these months of closure.
We started this campaign because we’ve have had several concerned clients reach out offering financial help via a gofundme campaign to cover operating/living costs for our family owned barbershop. Government programs may provide some financial relief to the barbers, but there are few funding options for businesses of our size that don't require going into significant debt.

This campaign seemed like a great way to involve the people who we have grown this business with over the 52 years of operation and are as much of the pulse of Dicks Sports Barbers as the actual staff.

We understand that this is a difficult time for everyone both financially and emotionally so please feel no obligation.  We are already so grateful for your past business.

We are hoping to be back to cutting hair in Edina soon this coming June1st.
We thank you, the barbers and the community.  We WILL come through the other side of this pandemic, looking forward to hearing your stories about your finished remodeled basement project, the daily 20k steps recorded on the Apple Watch walking your dog or how you mastered the family board games that you’ve played 100 times. The close quarters of your home and all the family stories that ensue and of course full immunity will be granted on the DIY kitchen haircuts.

We are so grateful for the friendships that we have made over the 52 years of business. We miss you all more than ever and look forward to seeing you soon Stay well, stay safe, and thank you for your long support.
