LET'S RETURN THE FAVOR

Ethan Dettenmeier, his wife Lota and daughter Shawn have been helping people in Los Angeles for years: fundraisers and concerts, an annual Christmas Party for underprivileged kids, donations to local food banks and, on a daily basis, personal outreach to the ever-rising numbers of homeless and down-on-their-luck people in our city. (I won't even mention Ethan running Combat Radio where he graciously allows me and other idiotic showbiz types to tell jokes, war stories and indulge in everyone's favorite hobby, insulting Jeff Astrof). If you asked Ethan and Lota, they'd say they only do what they do because they're following the example of their angelic super-kid Shawn whose compassion is simply unending.

Well, Shawn has now hit a little rough patch medically and because Ethan and Lota would never ask anyone for anything, I'll do it: can we all pitch in and help this family in the same way they've been helping this City for years? These people are the real deal, the unsung heroes, the force-multipliers of good in a world that sometimes seems to be lacking it and even if you don't know 'em (or live in LA), your world is a better place because of who they are and how they have shared their hearts. I love 'em and everyone who's been on Ethan's show loves 'em and you'd love 'em too if you're lucky enough to meet 'em. Anything you can give would be greatly appreciated! :)
