"Helping one person may not change the world, but it could change the world for one person." -Helen Barry

My name is Ashley Loveland, and I would like to thank each one of you for taking the time to read my story. I have organized this GoFundMe in memory of Jonathan Lewis Jr. for his mom and little brother (bro-bro) to build a better tomorrow and to bring a light to bullying awareness.

Jonathan Lewis Jr. was HERO with a beautiful soul that was taken too soon.

Jonathan was an astounding young man and a devoted big brother. Jonathan's life mattered!!!

Mellisa would like to express her deepest regrets for her estranged ex-husband, Jon Lewis Sr.'s, deceitful scheme and shameless ruse to exploit her precious son's murder with a misleading GoFundMe page. Sharing with Mellisa less than a third of what was so generously donated by caring people and keeping the rest for himself.

Mellisa and Jonathan's 5-year-old little brother struggle daily with the emptiness brought about from the loss of Jonathan and the incredible team trio that they had become over the years. Her youngest son misses his big brother, crying out sadly for his "bro-bro" in his sleep. Recently, Mellisa was diagnosed with PTSD and Agoraphobia due to the horrific manner in which her son was murdered. Her mental and emotional well-being make employment not an option at this time, which has resulted in a loss of necessary income.

With your generous donations you will be helping Mellisa and Jonathan's little brother enjoy a brighter future! Mellisa hopes to organize an anti-bullying campaign in memory of her beloved son, Jonathan, in order to continue raising awareness about school violence and bullying.

Mellisa is proud to announce that Jonathan was an organ donor through the Nevada Donor Network. Although many of his organs were unable to be donated due to blunt force trauma, Jonathan was still able to save 5 lives! Thank you, Jonathan! The world is grateful to know that your death was not entirely in vain.

Please, consider being an organ donor!

JONATHAN'S STORY

Jonathan was a 17-year-old student at Rancho High School in Las Vegas, Nevada that stood up to a bully in an alley behind the school not knowing that he would pay the ULTIMATE PRICE.

On November 1st, 2023, Jonathan confronted a bully after school. The security camera footage from the alley shows a large group of students gathered followed by Jonathan and his much smaller friend. When Jonathan confronted the bully, the teen waved to his friends. Jonathan was then inhumanely attacked by 10+ students (13 to 17-year-olds). They pushed him to the ground and began hitting, punching, kicking, and stomping on him until he was unconscious, bleeding, and in the fetal position. Then throwing his friend into a nearby dumpster. All the while, numerous lingering students recorded the heinous attack using their phones and posting it on social media. **GRAPHIC CONTENT** Not ONE of those students offered any aide to Jonathan or attempted to intervene! For 20 excruciating minutes Jonathan lay unconscious and bleeding before he was found and carried back to the school. Emergency personnel were finally called, and Jonathan was urgently rushed to the hospital. Upon arrival a drain was inserted into his head to reduce the swelling around his brain that was also causing his eyes to bulge. Jonathan was then placed on life support where he remained motionless for 6 agonizing days. On November 7, 2023, doctors declared him medically "brain dead", and the heartbreaking decision to take him off of life support was made. Jonathan passed away surrounded by those whom he loved.

The autopsy report described a ruptured aneurysm of one of two vertebral arteries, which are located in the neck and supply blood to the brain; a subarachnoid hemorrhage, which refers to bleeding in the space surrounding the brain; anoxic brain injury, which means the blood wasn’t getting any oxygen; as well as traumatic cardiac arrest and acute respiratory failure. Along with many injuries caused by blunt force trauma.

Rest In Peace Jonathan Lewis Jr. You will be forever remembered and loved!
