2WISH CYMRU

In less than a week I will be running the Eryri Marathon (Snowdon). This is my first ever marathon and I am pretty excited about doing it having been injured for the previous 2 years. I have been training hard for the last 6 months dragging myself out of bed most Sundays at 6.30am to run around these Welsh hills. 26.2 miles will be the furthest I have ever run not taking into account all the hills I will need to embrace.

I have decided to run this marathon to raise funds for a local Welsh charity - 2WISH. This is a charity that no person wants to ever have to reach out to. 2wish: 2 Wish Upon A Star provides bereavement support for families who have suddenly and traumatically lost a child or young adult aged 25 years and under.

In December last year a friend of mine Natalie Griffiths tragically lost her son Callum along with 2 of his friends in an horrific car accident in the Rhondda that left families and the community devastated. Natalie, husband Lee and daughter Erin have become ambassadors for this charity that reached out to them after losing Callum last year.

Natalie was recently interviewed by ITV Wales to talk about their loss as a family and for raising awareness for new laws to be brought in for young drivers - GDL - graduated driving licenses. I would be so grateful for any contributions regardless how small. This charity is so special and brings that support that grieving families in situations that we cannot even comprehend.
