Help Chad “Cheddar” Fedder’s Family
Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and military/contractor community,
It is with a heavy heart that I am writing this. The death of Chad “Cheddar” Fedder has effected so many people. For those of you that knew him, you knew that he was a larger than life man who left us way to soon. He was a dedicated and loving fiancé, father, son, brother and friend to so many. He is survived by his fiancé and partner of 17 years, Teri Barren, 12 year old daughter, Lexi Jo Fedder, father Norm Fedder, and brother Brent Fedder. Chad brightened the lives of everyone he met. He loved old cars, building guns and shooting in his spare time. He loved being surrounded by his family, friends and his animals.
Chad was the epitome of what it means to serve your country. He served as a Navy Corpsman from 1993-1997 in the 2nd Marine Division. He was attached to the 22nd MEU for most of his service time. Upon exiting the service, he became a Pennsylvania State Corrections Officer from 2000-2005. During this time the events of 9/11 transpired and he was yet again drawn to serve his country. He began working for Blackwater as a security contractor. It was during this time he met his fiancé, Teri while training for work. They fell in love and have been by each others side ever since. Chad deployed to Louisiana during Hurricane Katrina, providing security during the disaster.
Soon after returning home from Louisiana, he deployed to Iraq and then later Afghanistan. In May of 2009, Chad and Teri had their daughter Lexi, who they fell in love with instantly. Chad continued to contract for many years, supporting his family and touching many lives along the way. So many of his military and contracting brothers knew him for his plates filled of bacon at breakfast, coffee in hand wherever he went, and calling everyone “Sarge” instead of their name or callsign.
In 2019, due to medical reasons, Chad ended his career in contracting and began working back in Pennsylvania. It was during this time he began struggling with PTSD. He missed the brotherhood and serving his country. Even after trying to receive help, Chad succumbed to the heavy weight that was bearing on him. Although he will be missed by many people, he will never be forgotten. Heaven truly gained an angel to be reckoned with — in the best way.
As you can imagine, Teri was not at all prepared for the financial burden that came in the wake of Chad’s passing. The loss of income and benefits from Chad’s death was unexpected, which is why I am reaching out to all of you in hopes that you can show your love and support. Your donation will be used towards the funeral and his family’s living expenses, until Teri and her daughter can navigate through this extremely emotionally time. Any donation you can offer will help support them during this time of need.
Thank you so much for even considering to donate and for taking the time to read about Chad. He loved everyone.
Blessings,
