Help BUDDY The Best Cat Ever

Buddy is an amazing cat I had the pleasure of rescuing and fostering. Chris is my good friend and Buddy’s amazing person. Chris writes:
Hi all, I just want to give you and update on what’s been going on with Buddy, how he's doing and what we are looking at towards the future with him. First, I really want to thank everyone who reached out this week, it’s been a hell of an experience and the support has been much appreciated. I also couldn’t have gotten through this week without Vanessa, she’s my rock. I lost it a few times this week and she’s kept me grounded. Tuesday night I rushed Buddy to the VERG North animal hospital after I came home from work. Buddy’s eyes were covered in clear glaze, oozing and his skin had turned yellow. The first doctor I spoke to told me he was suffering from jaundice and that he needed to be admitted immediately. After initial blood work he showed signs of a severe liver infection, with the potential of being something even worse. He needed an ultrasound and around-the-clock care for four days to get answers and get him out of the danger zone. Below is the full report of what the assessment was, what his current treatment plan is and what is to be expected. Caring for an animal in need of serious medical support never comes at an easy time and I don’t like to ask for help, but right now the bills are $4,104.76 and if the current treatment plan does not continue to help, Buddy will need steroids and possibly even surgery. Also posted below is the itemized treatments he received at VERG North and the bill for the antibiotics so far, which may increase as we have to give him 5 antibiotics daily, some 2x a day for the next month. As a musician and web freelancer I work from home and Buddy is my daily companion. I adopted him over 3 years ago and he’s been a shining light in my day-to-day. I take him to the vet and make sure he’s taken care of, but you never know when an emergency is going to happen. This has been a huge stressor and I’m asking for your help. Every little bit helps and with enough contributions this struggle can be less of a burden allowing us to give Buddy the support he needs. I want Buddy to live a long, healthy life where his only worry is how many neck rubs he’s getting.Thank you,Chris and Vanessa
