Lebanon Explosion Relief
Donation protected
A massive chemical explosion has just hit Beirut; Lebanon's capital city, the largest blast it has ever witnessed. Over 3,000 people have been injured and at least 73 civilians have been killed. The apocalyptic scene has left Lebanon and it's people in complete destruction and disarray. The blast was so massive it was even felt throughout the country of Cyprus. Lives, homes, and businesses have been hurt and taken. There are shortages in medical equipment and not enough resources to handle the damage. With all of this, there will also be long-term damage in the soil, water, and air.
My name is Maya Abouchacra, I'm a Lebanese-American living in Connecticut. I'm raising funds to help support local families in need and local emergency services in Lebanon. The funds will be withdrawn in Connecticut and sent via wire transfer to the account of my close friend living in Lebanon, Michel El Ayle(Lebanon is not supported by GoFundMe's payment processors) . His resume includes volunteering and working with Lebanese Red Cross, NGOs, being an active member of the community and is currently employed at a well-known embassy.
All funds will be used to provide food and shelter to at-risk and vulnerable families affected by this horrific tragedy. Donations will help support buying groceries and distributing Food Boxes to people. Soup kitchens will be held for the people who've lost their homes and are now homeless. Helping people with expenses like rent and other bills will also be a priority.
Please help us provide as much help as possible to the Lebanese people who are already facing a heavy economical crisis, as well as surging COVID-19 cases.
