7 Summits - Zero Waste project

Donation protected
Climbing the seven summits is a feat that many alpinists and adventurers aim to achieve.

The big expeditions and the tales of these challenging ascents are deeds that attract each year more people seeking to surpass themselves. Sadly, high altitude mountaineering can sometimes take a toll on the mountain environment, especially on the highest peaks.

The demands on your body at such altitudes are so high, that sometimes it makes your waste and equipment a liability that can interfere on your way down. And sadly, with our occidental consumption view of the world, those wastes are sometimes left behind. (Ropes, O2 Bottles, Food Waste, Gaz canisters, ...)

This issue is also true on the more accessible summits like Kilimanjaro and Elbrus. Those ascents being lower in terms of technical difficulty, more climbers walk the paths of these mountains, leading to a larger quantity of rubbish and human wastes.

Being an optimistic, I am convinced that you can use a different approach on those expeditions and that with proper planning (that takes into account the footprint management of the expedition), you can manage to leave the mountain intact after your ascent.

And that is what I will try to show you with this project.

To do so, I will need some financial help from corporate partnership or donation from people who want to help me to spread this message.

The cost of a 7 summits project usually fluctuates around 200.000$.
