Help a Family Get Their Lives Back

Hi, our names are Veronica Saldana and Richard, some of you may already know a little about Veronica’s family's situation from the lex18.com news coverage. If not, keep reading and we will tell you our story. We are asking for donations for two goals. Our first goal is to help pay down the credit card debt Richard incurred in 2023 from a number of unexpected events while helping Veronica, her family, and her dogs that had been hit by a car while running away from her father James Saldana who was trying to beat them.

Our second goal is to hire a lawyer to try to get parental rights taken away from their parents so their minor siblings can be adopted by their foster parent, who has said she wants to take them in. In 2023 for the first time in their lives, Veronica and her 8 siblings, who range in age from 10-28, had a chance at a new life without abuse and pain thanks to a dedicated Sheriff who saw to it that CPS removed the minor children from the home and sent them to a foster home where they are safe for the first time in their lives. James Saldana was arrested for his crimes and faces four counts of first-degree criminal abuse for a child under the age of 12, and first-degree assault (domestic violence) . Despite his childrens’ testimony to his crimes, their father is likely to be released on June 6th from the Nelson County jail on a plea deal. We need funds to acquire a lawyer to help get parental control away so the kids can be adopted by their foster mom and become permanently freed from his grasp.

What follows is a small piece of what they went through: They suffered decades of physical and mental abuse by their parents which in part entailed being isolated from society, not allowed to receive any education, forced to stay in the house most of their lives, forced to drink urine to “cure” them instead of taking them to the Doctor, being sexually assaulted by their parents, and their father would put his pistol in their faces and threaten to shoot them if they did not obey him. If any of the siblings ever told anyone about how they were being treated, James would threaten their lives, as well as their siblings and 4 legged family members.

James is not a rational person and is obsessed with maintaining control over his children. While the adult children are free of his control, the younger children are still in danger if he gets to them. Getting them away from him is extremely important for their safety.

All donations beyond our goals will go to the adult children of the Saldana family to help with much needed repairs to their home that their parents neglected like getting the climate control fixed, covering remaining past due property taxes that their parents refused to pay, to help with medical bills now that they can finally seek medical care after a lifetime without treatment, and to pay fees for them to get their identity documents replaced that their mother withheld from them, so they can seek employment.
