70 Mile Car Push Record Attempt For a Good Cause!

Donation protected

How many times have you seen a guy push a car for 70 miles? I bet it’s something you’re probably hearing for the first time! I mean, unless you are driving the car, someone would be crazy to do something like that, right! Well, think again!

Hello, my name is Javon Chapman and I have always been looking for ways to bring my mind, body, spirit together as one. And while I have tried different things in the past, I know that one way that I can achieve this is pushing myself beyond my perceived limits. You see, life has a way of opening one’s eyes to certain events and opportunities especially in the journey to discovering one’s true purpose. And mine has been no different. In fact, I can confidently say that each choice I have made and path taken has been oriented towards one thing; service to others with the desire to uplift people and make a positive impact in their lives both materialistically and holistically in whatever manner I can. However little or much that I have at any given time, there is always someone in need of a helping hand. I will forever go out of my way to bring a smile to their faces and rekindle the flame of hope, positivity, and faith that brighter days are certainly ahead especially during these uncertain times when people in the community feel disheartened.

To begin with, I chose the 24 car push, because it is one of the hardest records to mentally and physically achieve. What’s more, I have always had a passion for supporting the Special Olympics, because I've volunteered at such events several times and there is nothing that makes me happy like seeing the participating athletes in these sports events with pure genuine joy and passion. It's really contagious.

But where did it all begin? Well, it started with me pushing one of the cars my family owns (Jeep Grand Cherokee) that weighs around 5,000 lbs for about 2miles for workouts. I really enjoyed the workouts because they pushed me to the extremes and worked my full body. So I thought to myself, ‘what if I could push a much lighter car but for a longer distance.’ That’s when the idea hit me and when I did my research, I stumbled across the current Guinness world record, which I knew I could surpass. I immediately embarked on training where I got a smart car weighing about 1,800 lbs and started pushing it for up to 10 miles a week, which took my training to a whole new level.

As the training gets more intense, I plan on adding at least 1 mile a week in order to build my endurance. I have also started alternating my car pushing with more traditional hardcore workouts, which has helped me train my full body and prepare sufficiently for the great feat that I plan to conquer.

Wondering what the great feat is? Well, on a date  TBD, I will be attempting to break the Guinness world record by pushing a Smart Car including a driver at least 239 times around the Sarasota Fairground Parking lot, all within 24 hours. This will be an equivalent of pushing a car for 70 miles, which I hope to conquer with ease.

However, despite looking forward to achieving this great feat, I need your help to raise $15000, which 100% of it will go to support Special Olympics Athletes. Kindly stand with me and be part of something big having contributed in bringing light to the lives of others. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for your support and please remember that every donation helps no matter how big or how small. It is my belief that I cannot do this alone, but together, we have the potential to do great things and change the world for the better. I wish you all good health and stay safe.
