70.3 Miles for Luna

For my IRONMAN 70.3 fundraiser this year, I am raising money for a cause very close to my heart. I am raising $$ to donate to my niece Luna Rae for her medical grade food.  

Luna was born with a very rare genetic disorder called PKU. The day she was born she joined a group of about 150 other Iowans that live with this condition. Untreated, Luna would experience irreversible brain damage that would eventually leave her completely incapacitated. With the proper treatment, she will live a productive, healthy life. One crucial part of her treatment is the consumption of Medical Foods which have been specifically designed to be safe for her to eat. Without access to these foods, the effects would be devastating. As you can imagine, the cost of these foods is completely prohibitive to almost every average family. Think of coming home from the grocery store with six items that cost you around $200...or more. 

100% of all donations will go straight into my sister’s hands to assist with the purchase of medical grade food for Luna.
