My friend Mindy Stanley was involved In a very unfortunate and tragic accident on Valentine's Day 2014.
Mindy was snowblowing her driveway when the snow shoot got clogged. Mindy disengaged the auger and attempted to clean out the snow that was in the shoot. Her hand slid in and got trapped in the blades of the blower.
Her right hand was badly mangled and her doctor was unable to save her pointer finger and amputated below the middle knuckle. Her middle finger was amputated below the top knuckle and a pin was inserted in an attempt to save it.
Mindy is still in the hospital (10 days later) with no discharge date as of yet. New X-rays have revealed a broken wrist. She will have to have another surgery to fix her wrist and the index finger her doctor is trying to save might have to be amputated further below the middle knuckle at a later date. Hopefully not...!
Mindy is the Mom of three beautiful children, Payton is 7, Preston is 5 and Paige is 3. She has a wonderful relationship with her boyfriend of two years, Adam. She is a hairdresser by trade and district leader of 5 salons in the area. She is also self employed as an Independent Jeweler with Premier Designs Jewelry. She is a hard worker that does SO SO much for everyone in her life and I would like to pay it forward by doing something for her!
Unfortunately at the time of her accident, Mindy did not have health insurance for herself. Every day spent in the hospital and every surgery, is adding to her debt. I am trying to help her by setting up this Fundraising Account to help with the financial burden she will have with medical bills and being unable to work for an undetermined amount of time.
