A Miracle For Tere

Hi! This is Teresa. She is 62 years old and she is a special part of our lives. She's is a loving mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She is that kind of aunt that always come to the party with a smile in her face, a deck of cards in one hand and a bottle of white wine in the other. Incredibly devote and charming as only she is, she's that person who knows everyone on the block after years of practicing the old art of talking to strangers in all sorts of places. No wonder every cashier around knows her name. She is that relative that never forgets a birthday and is the first to congratulate everyone on that Whatsapp group you so casually check. She is also that person that is not afraid to embarrass you a little bit saying I love you with a big hug in front of everyone. Kind and generous as only she is, she shares blessings and warm words right when you need it, even when you didn't even know it. That has made her invaluable support to her family, friends, and community throughout her entire life. On March 7th she suffered a stroke during the blackout that hit Venezuela, leaving the country in the dark for days at a time. We feared the worst as most basic services in the country such as water and electrical power simply vanished. Thankfully she arrived at a hospital with an auxiliary power plant, where she could be evaluated and receive medical treatment. The following day her condition worsened as she suffered a large-scale brain hemorrhage. This meant she had to be transferred to the emergency room, and have brain surgery to contain the hemorrhage. As she was unable to breathe and eat by herself, so she yet again underwent surgery to insert gastrostomy and tracheostomy tubes to assist her normal vital functions.   Days have passed and while she remains in the hospital, unable to move the right side of her body, she has made enormous progress thanks to her strength and desire to live. Now awake and conscious, she is literally pushing her slumbered body to the limit just to speak to her family and friends, showing us that she is the same person we always knew and hopefully always will be. But there is still a long road for her recovery. It has been very had for us (family and friends) to support her recovery and medical expenses. You might rightfully wonder why? Well as you may have heard somewhere in the news, Venezuela has been in the eye of a social, political and economic hurricane for some years now. It is a country where people struggle on an everyday basis just to find food, surviving an unofficial dollarized economy where most employed endure with $5 a month as per minimum wage. Things get worse If we add the FMI estimation of a 10.000.000% inflation rate (FMI figures) by the end of this year. We try our best and as we can to keep our families safe and feed. But sadly unexpected things happen that are out of our hands, this unfortunate situation stroke in the worst moment possible, and we find ourselves unable to help her with our own means.   We created this GoFundMe to ask for financial support toward her recovery. Your donations would contribute to present and future treatment costs for Teresa. More specifically, your donation would be used to purchase medicine, an oxygen concentrator, anti-bedsores mattresses, a clinical bed, language therapy, and physiotherapy, among other medical equipment. Even the smallest contribution would have a significant impact on her recovery. Therefore, we would be extraordinarily grateful for your donation to help her during this dire time. My Name is Irene Malave and I am her nephew. I will use the donations to pay the before mentioned treatment recieved in the clinic and to pay the salary of the nursing staff and physiologist Hola! Quiero presentarte a Tere.
