71 Mile Lake Tahoe Perimeter Paddle

My father passed from Cancer some 15 years ago around this time of year, and with so many people affected by this disease, I needed a cause with a huge emotional tie to get me through this tough Tahoe challenge ... and as a Dad now myself, where better to start than giving toward this children's charity, helping support both kids and their parents through the trauma of cancer.

My self inflicted challenge is to Paddle board, solo, around the entire 71 mile perimeter of Lake Tahoe, supplies on board. The plan is to cover the distance in under 2 days, setting off at first light on Monday, Sept 17th, straight paddling  until dark, camp for night 1 on a shoreline site at Meeks Bay on the West side, then heading out at first light again the next day to finish the job! I've been in training at Folsom every spare hour I can, and to date my longest session has been 5 hrs straight.
