Myron Piggie Project-Documentary Trailer

Also a note from a friend…
Myron Piggie is 61 years old and works hard every day to provide for his family. A knee replacement this year has not made life any easier. The bills stack up! But he is a strong man of faith and a fighter and presses on.
Myron comes from a large family that has always depended on him. He grew up in the tough streets of Kansas City, surviving a life most of us could not imagine. Athletics provided him with opportunities. A knee injury ended his career, so he did what many leaders do, he started coaching. Young men were attracted to his love and leadership, and frankly, he became like a father to many of them.
What sets Myron’s story apart is his boys had all-world talent. Their talent then attracted more talent! He might have assembled the best AAU basketball team of all time. Myron coached many teams, but one particular team dominated the United States prep world. This brought a lot of attention from college programs, people of influence, and even major companies.
Myron was a coach, and father figure to these young men and everyone wanted a piece. Myron had lived a tough life and had made many mistakes that including time in jail. He worked hard to steer his boys away from all that.
The compensation of amateur athletes has always been a controversy. Myron got caught up in that. I am not going to attempt to tell you that story here. In the end, he choked down felony charges in a plea agreement with the federal government that included prison time. The process determined the universities were victims of Myron’s crime. What about the coaches, donors and corporations influencing the process? Myron did his time! He has paid his debt! He moved on with his life, though the scapegoat of a national scandal!
Now they are coming after his paycheck! They are taking 25% of his weekly paycheck for the rest of his life until he pays off the $350k in scholarships of the boys involved in the scandal and of course, includes interest and penalties. Myron will never be able to pay this debt!
Myron owing for these scholarships is absurd! Please donate what you can and send it on to others please. Anyone who has ever received a scholarship or benefited from one…your help would be appreciated. These athletes are now being paid directly! The gov’t is now even relieving student debt. Anything you can do to help Myron and his family out is appreciated.
