THE HISTORIC FRONTLINE BOOKS AND CRAFTS NEEDS YOUR HELP!
Founder and owner Sekou Tafari is putting the International melanated community on notice, Frontline Books is at risk of leaving Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood.
Located at 5206 South Harper Avenue, nestled in the renowned Harper's Court, Frontline Books and Crafts flagship location has been serving the South Side since 2004. Originally established several miles north in the late 1980s, Frontline Books has been Black-Owned and proudly providing a wealth of priceless wisdom and information in Chicagoland for nearly 35 years.
One of the most notable names in the city, Frontline Books is not your typical book shop. It's a publishing house for authors, a haven for students of roots and culture, and a meeting place for lovers of literature.

THE FINAL CALL TO SAVE OUR FRONTLINE BOOKSTORE - TRUEBRARY (LIBRARY)!!!
Frontline Books which have been a cultural staple on Harper Avenue, downtown Hyde Park for the last 18 years is now facing the threat of eviction due to the unkind effects of Covid 19 and now the rising inflation in our midst. Frontline Books is the last of two (2) Black bookstores operating currently in the city of Chicago. We are the longest standing bookstore to operate on this same premises in downtown Hyde Park. We are the fourth (4th) in the line of Black bookstores to be housed at this said location for the last 35 years. We need our community to assist by contributing to ensure we are able to ride out this rocky storm. You can contribute by purchasing one of our many book bundles or coming to the location and purchasing any of our products available or contribute to Save Our Frontline Fund Initiative. We are in need of your support especially since state, federal or city grants take a long time to get approved for small Black owned businesses operating in the United States, especially if you are not connected to political personalities or any of the two political parties. THE STRUGGLE IS REAL AND IT CONTINUES. Give thanks.
