Medical Bills and expenses

Hi, it's Miss Bev here.

As most of my beautiful family, friends and colleagues know, I had the most horrendous year in 2021.

I was diagnosed with Breast cancer, and six weeks after a successful lumpectomy, I was diagnosed with another completely unrelated cancer; this time Lymphoma.

The radiation treatment I was scheduled for with the Breast Cancer was put on hold and I went into chemotherapy treatment for the Lymphoma.

After the successful chemotherapy, I then went in to have the radiation treatment.

Because my body's immune system was so compromised from all the cancer treatments, I then came down with a horrendous case of Shingles, in my right ear.

Because of this, I suffered Bells palsy and tinnitus, and now I have nerve damage and chronic pain on that side of my face.

And add to that a medication that literally sent me loopy for a while.

During covid, being a freelance musician, I wasn't eligible for any benefits of any kind. I was very kindly assisted by several entertainment related charities, for which I will be eternally grateful. Plus the incredible generosity of family and friends who delivered soup, wigs, flowers and messages.

I soaked up the love and yelled at my cancers like Gandalf, and it worked ! I am Thankfully Cancer free.

But, the story isn't over for me yet.

My savings have been obliterated - and I continue to have ongoing and costly specialist appointments, tests and treatments, a lot of them not listed on the PBS.

My work these days is limited, and what money I do make is being eaten up by the ongoing medical costs I face.

I have avoided asking for help from my mates as I am proud - But, I'm swallowing my pride now and saying, I need help.
