In Memory of Jeffery Taylor

Hi, my name is Kayla and I am one of 4 of Jeff's children. We are from Smiths Falls Ontario and appreciate any help from the community. Jeff had been battling a year long fight against stage 4 lung cancer which spread to multiple lymph nodes. Jeff devastatingly caught RSV, which had turned into pneumonia, then ARDS. Jeff lost his life January 14, 2025 at 4:50pm, while intubated and sedated in an Ottawa ICU, surrounded by loving family.
Jeff was the kindest person you could meet. He loved his family and dog, Loki, so much and would do anything for them. He would come home numerous times from the store with new snacks or candies to try just because "I think my kids may like these". Jeff absolutely adored my mother, Amanda, and would continuously make gracious attempts to provide for her even while he was battling cancer. I remember showing up to the hospital before Jeff was intubated and he kept telling everyone "don't worry, everything will be okay." That's the type of person Jeff was; while knowing he was taking his last breathes, he was more focused on making sure everyone else would be okay after he was gone. His family was what gave him purpose in life. His wife Amanda, brother Micheal, sister Amy, mother Wendy, and his children Ellie (23), Kayla (20), Evan (15), and Jessica (9) were his constant priority and would go above and beyond to protect them.
I am raising funds for Jeffs funeral costs and cremation as my mother is on ODSP and the coverage is minimal. We would love to have Jeff cremated, to share his ashes among keepsakes with the entire family. Unfortunately ODSP will not provide an urn nor any funding for keepsakes and if we provide one ourselves, they will take all funding away. We are trying to cover the costs of the funeral, urn, and keepsakes, as we would like to avoid the route of using ODSP. Any funding is hugely appreciated and anything left over will be given to his children to provide for their daily needs.
