Axel's Medical bills & help Yoko

Donation protected
It is with great sadness to report that on October 21, 2017 at 11:22pm, Axel passed away peacefully with Yoko’s family by his side.

As you can imagine the family will have significant financial needs. Many of the treatment expenses were not covered by insurance, and the final trip to ICU was not covered by insurance. Please help Yoko and the girls in this time of need.

The time of his passing has some significance. Axel always used the number 22, his skydiving team was AXIS22 (when filming Yoko for freestyle it was AXIS21), and it was a number he used repeatedly throughout his life.

As many of you are aware, Axel had been spending this past summer with his family in both Japan and Germany, creating memories and special moments while undergoing treatments in Japan for his healing process from cancer treatment. Axel was on a slow but correct path to get healed with these treatments and was making great progress.

During Yoko’s last visit to Japan to be with Axel, as it was approaching time for her to leave, Yoko wanted to stay with him, but Axel, who always put his family and friends first, told Yoko to go home and take care of the girls.

While Yoko getting ready to go back to Japan to bring Axel back home, she received a call from him, she immediately noticed that Axel had some sort of brain damage.  Yoko returned to Japan right away, but Axel suffered a cerebral malformation, which caused a vain to pop, they could not save him and sadly she was too late for final goodbyes.

She shared these thoughts with me as she attempted to process her emotions.

I can hold him invisibly and I hear his laugh next to me
I see his big happy smile
I feel his big caring heart
I'm with him always
I love you Alexander.
I love you eternally.
Thank you very much for the fantastic time with you.
We've spent lifetimes together before, so I know that I'll see you again. Till then, may you be happy and well.’
Your Yoko

The girls joined Yoko in Japan to be with family, and have started the healing process for life without Axel.  There was a private ceremony in Japan and we will have more information soon about celebrations of Axel’s life for his friends in the USA and around the world.  Please stay tuned for information.

Please understand that Yoko will not be able to reply to well wishes until she settles all the affairs and has time.

Axel will live on in our hearts forever
