74 - year- old Summit nurse loses home to fire and needs help
Early this morning, a fire ravaged the home of Margaret Wanic, who lives with her son at 51 Huntley Road. Margaret and her son managed to escape the house in their pajamas, but unfortunately, Margaret’s son is in the hospital with smoke inhalation injuries. Their home is not livable, they lost everything in the fire, and they find themselves overwhelmed.
Thirty-five years ago, on becoming a widow with four kids, Margaret transformed herself from being a stay-at-home Mom to a Registered Nurse. Through hard work and sacrifice, she managed to send four kids to college while still finding time to volunteer on the Gillette Rescue Squad for 10 years. Margaret is a parishioner of St. Teresa’s Catholic Church in Summit and is a 74-year-old Front Line hero of the Summit community. Margaret is a very inspirational woman who now finds herself in need of assistance. This family is uncomfortable asking for help because they are so used to helping others when they are in trouble.
The Other Fellow First Foundation (www.OtherFellowFirstFoundation.org) is assisting the Wanic family and would like to invite the very generous Summit family to consider joining us by supporting our Go Fund Me appeal. Margaret has always been there for others, and now it’s our turn to be there for her and her family.
Thank you for your consideration.
