74yo Len lost his house and car in recent Tornado
Donation protected
Please help us, help Len and his 2 dogs get temporarily back on their feet after their home and car was destroyed in the 2023 Christmas night Storm/Tornado on the Gold Coast.
We wish we weren't here typing this, and we're sure Len wouldn't want us too as he is a tough old bugger. But in the recent 2023 Christmas night Tornado that devastated parts of the Gold Coast, 74yo Len took cover in his bedroom in the dark, with his 2 dogs also in the house whilst his entire home was torn apart around him by one of the deadliest storms the Gold Coast has ever seen. Incredibly the only room left standing was his bedroom, which most likely saved his life.
He is so lucky to have such wonderful neighbours including Brad and Dani who headed straight towards Lens house and the neighbouring houses checking on people in complete darkness putting themselves at risk with trees and power lines falling. They also put Len up for the night and got started on the clean up straight away. A few other locals have been amazing helping Len daily and a special mention to Matt South for being there every step of the way. These guys are the hero's of this story along with the rest of the community and emergency services that have come together in the aftermath.
Lens house is insured, but his car wasn't and right now he has no where to live, with only one lovely family member assisting him with a temporary solution. Right now we are desperately wanting to help Len get a cheap vehicle to drive, and extra some cash to help him whilst he waits for answers on what's next. We also hope this helps fast track the process of Len getting back onto his property with his dogs Nelly and Murphy to feel at home again in a van or portable home, this is the ideal situation for Len. He needs to be at home again.
Any donations are appreciated and will go directly to Len.
A little will go a long way.
Thank you so much for reading and we hope anyone else that has been effected by this event has the support they need to get through.
Further details required-
My name is Brayden Skerry, I am doing this gofund me on behalf of Len Latours. Len is a friend and customer of mine. Len does not have an immediate family to assists him so we are doing what we can to help.
How the funds will be used- Len will receive 100% of the funds donated, and this will be used to get him by right now with food, accommodation, and maybe a new car to run about in whilst he waits for the insurance process to start. His daily drive car was not fully insured and is completely destroyed.
Thank you all so much.
