Justice for the Portsmouth 14
Donation protected
Portsmouth PD has issued 14 warrants for people found to be at the confederate statue at the time of its long-needed and well-merited destruction. They include public defenders, NAACP leaders, political organizers, and ordinary people who chose to stand in solidarity with Black lives and all the countless other fallen victims of police brutality.
These warrants and the significant, life-altering charges attached to them amount to straightforward, violent political repression. The legal costs and logistical challenges ahead for those named by the police today and those they still seek to identify are great, and they are urgent.
All funds will be used to assist in legal fees and any other costs associated with the unjust charges.
If you are one of the 14 named and need legal funding, or if you have any questions, please reach out to the 757 Solidarity Bail Fund at [phone redacted] or [email redacted].
