Youth Group Mission Trip

The JMBC Student Ministry is sending a team of 11 people to Houston, TX from July 12th-19th to do mission work, ministering to the enormous refugee population located in Houston. We will be partnering with Servant Life and Global Frontier Missions.
The base cost for each student has been paid. What remains is the airfare for the students to fly from Chesapeake to Houston.
Houston is among the fastest-growing and most diverse metropolitan areas in the USA. In fact, with some identified 350 people groups living here, Houston is now considered the most ethnically diverse city in the USA. More than 90 languages are spoken throughout the Houston area. (U.S. Census Bureau)

Between the years of 2000-2009 some 300,000 internationals immigrated to Houston and in 2009 the U.S. Census Bureau estimated that Houston has over 1.28 million residents that were born outside of the United States.
If Houston was a country, it would be ranked 8th in the world in terms of the number of people groups living here.
Most of the people being ministered to in Houston are refugees from unreached people groups. The refugees come from all over the world, including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Congo, Eritrea, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Nepal, Pakistan, Rwanda, Somalia, Sudan, Vietnam.
The students will receive training in cultural sensitivity, missions strategy, building relationships with people from other countries, as well as the biblical basis of missions. The outreach portion of the trip may include backyard Bible clubs, block parties, teaching ESL, community service projects, and/or relationship evangelism.
I am asking that you support these students, as they give up a week out of their summer to go to Houston to minister to refugees from all over the world. You can imagine the airfare for 11 people is substantial.
Please do whatever you can to support these amazing students. If it's $5, $10, $25, $100, $250, $500, or any other amount, your contribution will have an impact on the lives of both the students and the refugees whom they have the opportunity to show grace and compassion.
