Caitlin Davis for Miss Canada Globe 2014

My name is Caitlin Davis and I am a resident of Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador. I have been selected as a finalist in the Miss Canada Globe 2014 Competition In Toronto this August. Along with being a finalist in this competition, I am also a full time student at Memorial University of Newfoundland and a part time sales associate at Samuel & Co. In my spare time, I enjoy studying classical singing and piano, reading, running, cross country skiing, playing tennis, and any activity that involves being outdoors. As someone who has asthma and understands the impact it can have on someone's life, I have always supported the Lung Association. Along with being a member of my local church choir, I am also a member of the Bay Of Islands Musical Arts Choir and have participated in fundraising events as part of the the choir and as a soloist, such as our production of the opera Suor Angelica and my first solo recital, "Ae Fond Kiss". I have been a part of Immaculate Heart of Mary School's youth group for fourteen years and have been a leader for seven years. Some of our activities include charity work around the community such as collecting food for the local food bank and visiting/singing for the residents at our local Senior Citizen's homes and hospitals. The Miss Canada Globe Competition is a way for young women like myself to promote leadership skills by volunteering for local charities and by using our time and talents to help others. A portion of the funds I receive will be donated to the Corner Brook Food Bank and the Lung Association. I cannot express how greatful I am to be chosen as a finalist for this competition, and any financial support I can receive will help me in my journey.
