Father of 2 battling Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer.

First off, I cant stress how much I hate doing this. I pride myself in being the bread winner for my family. I have been the single income so my wife can stay at home with our 4 year old.

One week ago our world was turned upside down after a trip to the ER turned into a diagnosis that no one ever wants to hear. Cancer. Not only was I diagnosed with Cancer, but Stage 4 Pancreatic cancer, the most aggressive of them all.

I am a strong person, and have the most confidence that I will overcome this! I have been a huge Dory fan, and follow her advice to "Just Keep Swimming" on a daily basis. I know that strength will get me through this battle. I am very strong willed, and with the emotional support of friends and family, I've got this.

My day to day job is in education, as I support a 4th grade classroom with students that have social/behavior disabilities. This means that I am consistently working with students who act out in frustration and anger by kicking, hitting, biting, throwing desks, chairs, and trying to harm staff in any way possible. As you can imagine, this is not an atmosphere that I can be in on a daily basis, going through Chemo.

My Chemo starts in 1 week, with intense 3 part drugs. One of the drugs is a 24 hour drip, which I am home for. This means 3 days out of every 2 weeks, I must be home for treatment. This doesn't even include days that I am having negative reactions from the Chemo Therapy.

I am doing everything I can in the process of applying for temporary or permanent disability, and asking gracious co-workers for donations of sick time to help our family while I am out of work. But as we all know, this takes time. Right now, I don't have the funds for our rent this month, nor to put food on our table.

Even if you are not in a place to help me monetarily, please share this so that your friends and family may see this.

I love each and every one of you, and truly appreciate all the support, positive thoughts, prayers, mega juju, and especially the Dory pictures!

Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
