Help Bring Dennis Home

My name is Chris Givler, and I am asking for your support in making the final arrangements for my friend, Dennis Ortiz.

I met Dennis in college more than 35 years ago, when neither of us had any idea of all the places our lives would take us. And in that time, he became one of the most significant people in my life. We were there for each other through so many chapters of our lives.

I was with him for the death of his mother, and I want to be there for him now.

For those who didn't know him, Dennis was born and raised in Hell's Kitchen in New York City.

He attended Regis High School, then Williams College, and finally Columbia University.

He had a sharp wit, unique viewpoint, and larger-than-life personality. It was rare that you would not know what was on his mind, because he was almost certainly going to let you know. Everyone who knew him has a 'Dennis story' to tell.

For the past few years, Dennis was living and working as an educator and college advisor in Dubai.

I would very much like to bring him home.

And I hope you can help me do that.

The total cost for cremation and repatriation is $3,811. Any amount in excess of that will go toward memorial services to be held in New York City and streamed online.
