Facial Feminisation Surgery

Hi I'm Robyn Lexi-Mckenzie, and I'm a trans woman from Nottingham, England. I'm currently studying a PhD in Mechanical Engineering.

I'm crowd-funding for Facial Feminisation Surgery because it is my main source of gender dysphoria. I can't even think about bottom surgery until I've fixed my face. It is a problem because I put my family and friends' expectations of who I was before who I wanted to be until I was 30.

By then, I had finished male puberty, and the testosterone had given me the face I have today. Had I taken the time to consider who I was and not who other people said I was, my hormone therapy would have been more successful.

I put this down to not being diagnosed with autism till my mid 20's during my undergrad studies and lacking self-awareness.

Also, I don't wish to be clocked as a trans woman when out and about. I realise that is a little silly as all women come in different shapes and sizes and are beautiful just as we are; but given current hostility toward trans people from the media in the UK it would be safer if this was not the case.
