Help with living expenses

Hi, my name is Chelsey and I am seeking help with upcoming bills for October. On September 21st I called for a squad to take our daughter Aubrey to the hospital due to trouble breathing. Aubrey is a 2 year old girl who was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and epilepsy due to suffering from H.I.E. at birth. Due to her muscles being heavily affected by her cerebral palsy, Aubrey has faced many difficulties throughout her life. Earlier this year we were told that Aubrey has obstructive airways due to lack of muscles in her esophagus. Her airways are floppy and they collapse. And in July, Aubrey was diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea. Once we got to the hospital, Aubrey was taken to the special care unit and rapid response was called. The doctors worked quickly to get her comfortable and ran some tests where they found that Aubrey has rhino/entero virus and pneumonia. The pneumonia diagnosis made it Aubrey’s 3rd diagnosis within 36 days. Aubrey was admitted and she was pretty stable up until Friday evening when she suffered from acute respiratory failure and her oxygen dropped to 54, she needed bagged and was then brought up to the icu. She was on 10 liters of hi flow oxygen and her vitals were finally looking good but when they checked her blood gas she had alarming levels of co2. Bi-pap was started shortly after and after 24 hours of bi-pap things were seemingly good and her X-rays looked great the morning of the 24th. Monday things did not change and we were told we would be looking at 10-14 days in the icu. Tuesday X-rays showed the pneumonia was worsening and the settings were increased on the bi-pap throughout the day. Typically, if a patient is not able to come down off of bi-pap within a few days, the next step is intubation. Intubation would require 6 weeks at minimum in the icu, a central so she could be heavily sedated to tolerate the tube being in place, and there is also a chance that things could get worse, and they said there would be a 50% chance of her dying even with getting the tube placed. The medical team, her father and I, all agree that invasive treatments are not ideal for Aubrey due to her complex medical history. Since Aubrey was no longer improving with Bi-pap Wednesday, they wanted to see if Aubrey could tolerate taking breaks from the bi-pap mask and receive the bi-pap through a RAM cannula with increased settings on the ventilator. They gave Aubrey the breaks throughout the day and the next morning, Aubrey’s X-rays looked a little worse. However, during Aubrey’s breaks she looked much more comfortable and slept well. The doctors suggested that keeping Aubrey comfortable is the most important priority. Aubrey’s X-rays have stayed the same since Wednesday. We have been visited by child life and the sound therapy team to make keepsakes with Aubrey and she is being taken care of by palliative care as well. Aubrey has fought her whole life and I know she’s trying so hard to fight this illness off. It is so scary to not know what to expect each day and to know that our last day together could be closer than we could have ever expected. Every day with her has been a blessing and she truly needs me and her dad with her during this time. Her dad is paid weekly and he was out from work all last week due to going through all of this and we know he needs to go back next week so that things don’t fall behind, but that is so hard when you hear the heartbreaking potential outcomes regarding your child’s health. Thank you for taking the time to read this and please keep Aubrey and our family in your prayers.
