Stand with David Ching in His Fight

Aloha Lahaina Shores Ohana,

Many of you know and are extremely fond of David Ching. He was the smiling face at Lahaina Shores for over 20 years that would help anyone with their needs to make their time at Lahaina Shores a memorable one. He has been like family to many of us.

David has suffered from back pain for many years and has had several surgeries to relieve the constant pain. His last surgery was just before the fire in June 2023. Surgery went well, but a fall in the hospital just days later would change his life.

David is fighting every day with the goal of walking without assistance. He has been hospitalized several times due to complications from his fall. It seems each time he advances, another setback occurs.

Due to the fires, he was laid off from Coral Tree in March 2024. David has been deemed disabled and is unable to drive. He uses ride shares to his PT and doctor appointments. He has racked up medical bills and ride share expenses during this time.

David is extremely independent and does not want to be a burden to family or close friends. I’m hoping those of you that think of him as family will help if you are able.
