Tim’s Journey

For the last few months my brother Tim has been dealing with excruciating headaches. On January 26th he couldn’t take the pain anymore and headed to the ER. After a CT scan he was told he had a golf ball size tumor in the center of his brain. This tumor was blocking the normal flow of cerebral spinal fluid, causing build up and pressure in his head, hence the horrible headaches.
Fortunately for us, an amazing surgeon took our case. He was brought to San Diego to help open Sharp’s new Neuroscience Center opening this spring. He has only been here for TWO months. He requested a special navigation machine be bought for this center, and my lucky brother was the first patient they used it on.
Surgery day was Friday, 2/2/24. The longest day of our lives. We surrounded him at 5:30 in the morning, all of us at his bedside in an effort to comfort him, to show him how much he is loved, and how much he is needed by all of us. My brave little brother left us with a smile on his face, and I truly believe some peace in his heart.
The surgeon was able to remove 80% of the tumor. His GOD given talent allowed him to wake my little brother up again. He woke him up without any deficits. He can talk, move his arms and legs, he knows who we are, and he has a fighting chance to get through this.
This journey is far from over. This little brother of mine has a lot to do, a lot to overcome. It saddens me to think that he is lying in that bed and there is nothing I can do to fix him. He is still in the ICU, he’ll need physical therapy, occupational therapy, he needs time to heal.
It could be months before he is back to normal. With that said, a second surgery may be needed. My little brother Tim is not only a blessing to me as a brother, he’s an amazing DAD, STEP-DAD, SON,FIANCÉ ,TIO, FRIEND. He’s a little guy with a BIG personality. He has lots to do, a daughter to raise, a woman to marry, lots of life to live.
We are reaching out to our community, family, friends, and loved ones to ask for your support. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a significant impact on his journey to recovery. Your contributions will help cover the mounting medical bills, ongoing care, and general life expenses. More importantly, your contributions will help ease his mind and allow time for a peaceful healing. ❤️
I have never felt more gratitude. THANK YOU GOD and thanks to everyone who has and is praying for my little brother. Please, don’t stop. We appreciate all of you.
