Hello we are the members of the band 'No Fixed Address'. We were inducted into the SA music 'Hall of Fame' on the 3rd June 2016, and performed on the night.
We began our career as teenagers in 1979 at the Centre for Aboriginal Studies in Music (CASM) in North Adelaide, We are the first Aboriginal band to perform on the mainstream music circuit and appear on national television and have our music aired on commercial radio.
We toured extensively throughout Australia and oversea's during the 1980s, we co-starring in a movie, and recorded albums. Our songs were about human rights, destruction of the environment and society societal change. Our music vehicle is reggae and our words reflect those of the Jamaican storytellers and poets as it relates to Aboriginal people, in response to oppression, social injustice and economic deprivations.
Our goals are to record the live performance and to document on film our induction into the 'Hall of Fame' .
The funds will be used to pay expenses in regard to further documentation of the bands performances and interviews for a documentary.
It was a milestone in our career one that we all value dearly. It presented us with the opportunity to meet up and perform together again. It also means that our family, friend's and fans have the opportunity too see the band perform again. The recording and footage of the performance is of great value to us, on a promotional and personal level. It is a record (visually and musically) of the band being inducted into the Hall of Fame, something that is a life long ambition. It is recognition and respect for our past achievement's from our peers in the SA music industry, and an acknowledgement of our hard work.
When you donate, the band will have your name placed on the album cover. As part of our reward program, when you donate $20 or over you will receive a choice of either a copy of our live album '1981', a DVD of our induction into the SA Music Hall of Fame, or a ticket to one of our concerts.
If you donate $50 you will recieve a copy of our live album and a copy of our induction into the AMC SA Music 'Hall of Fame'.
When you donate over $100 or over you will receive the full package.
