Emergency surgery for Lady
Can you help us raise $10000 to save Little Lady?!
Lady is still a baby at only 8 months old. A sweet and tiny Fox Terrier x Chi! When we met her last week she was already fighting to have at a chance at life in a regional pound before she was rescued by Willow Tree Sanctuary.
We had no idea that little Lady’s struggles would be far from over. We soon noticed she had facial tics and shortly after arriving in our care, she started having seizures.
Early on the morning of Tuesday, July 12, the seizures became more severe and violent. We rushed Lady to the closest animal specialist emergency hospital, two hours away. She has remained there ever since.
The specialist raced against time to diagnose and treat this little baby, and Willow Tree Sanctuary set out to find the funds to cover her staggering and growing specialist vet bill- which currently stands at $8000.
What we already know is that the seizures have rendered Lady blind, and unable to walk, caused by neurological damage. However, the Specialists believe this damage may be reversible with the right treatment.
Whatever is happening to Lady is progressive and an absolute emergency. Lady will not survive without extensive emergency interventions, 24 hr hospital care, testing, and possible surgery. She underwent CT scans and a spinal tap last night, and now we nervously awaiting the results today. We are hoping these tests will help determine if these concerns are being caused by her liver, brain disease, a metabolic issue, or something unknown.
Without these tests, Lady's health concerns will remain. The cause unknown, the treatment potentially ineffective, and most importantly- Lady will not get the chance to experience the life of love and belonging she deserves.
We will not give up on Lady, but as a not-for-profit Animal Rescue Organisation are seeking help in being able to meet the enormous cost of specialist vet care so that Lady has a chance at beginning her healing process.
She needs help. She needs someone to back her. She needs our compassion so that she may have the decent life she so deserves.
We would be so grateful for anything you could contribute. Let’s get her through this together and on the path to a beautiful life.
