I’m Valerie. I’m a mom of two. Since the middle of the pandemic, I’ve been struggling trying to make ends meet with less jobs and hours available. I’ve been able to keep up with things until now. After almost two months of being unemployed, I’ve depleted my funds and have been trying to pay the bare minimum on household bills to stay afloat. I’ve recently started a part time job but have yet to have a full income. My unemployment barely covers basic bills and has to commute for work. I’m trying to raise funds to cover rent for a while until I can get caught up, my landlords won’t work with me and I’m facing eviction. This is especially devastating since I’ve been in my home over 7 years and two of my daycare providers and my siblings all live in the same complex. Having to leave means losing my support system and also facing homelessness because my rent here is less than any other rentals out there.
