Support Cindy's Battle Against Cancer

Dear Friends and Family,

It is with a heavy heart that I reach out to you today to share some difficult news. My beloved mother, Cindy, has recently been diagnosed with cancer. This devastating diagnosis has shaken our family to the core, but we are determined to fight this battle with all the strength and courage we can muster.

My mom first went to the emergency room with an unrelated illness in December 2023. While there, an ultrasound revealed a small mass on her liver. While waiting for an initial consult with an oncologist, Cindy had to go to the emergency room again in March 2024 with severe pain in her abdomen. The imaging done there showed the pain was being caused by the liver mass, now tripled in size in just 3 months. Further imaging and her visit with her oncologist in April showed a definitive diagnosis of stage 4 liver cancer. Since then, Cindy has started chemo in May and had several treatments so far.

As you can imagine, facing cancer comes with a myriad of emotional, physical, and financial challenges. While we are fortunate to have the support of our friends and family, the cost of medical treatments, medications, and other related expenses are quickly adding up. As a single parent who raised 3 children by herself, my mother has always been the rock of our family, and it breaks my heart to see her burdened by this illness.

In addition to the cancer diagnosis, the recent heavy rains and winds in Arlington caused a tree to fall on her roof. The deductible for her insurance is in the thousands of dollars and, as a person on a fixed income, has proven more than my mother can afford.

This is why we are reaching out to our community for help. We have set up this GoFundMe campaign to raise funds to support my mother during this difficult time. Your generous contributions will go directly towards covering medical expenses, treatments, medications, and any other unforeseen costs associated with her cancer journey and living situation.
