Help us say goodbye

Zayden was our miracle. We fought for him since day one. We tried so hard. And then we found out he had some complications... Lower Urinary Tract Obstruction. Dr's told us we would not make it to week 28, let alone birth. But we did. He was born at 37 weeks on October 6.

He did so well and was beating all the odds... surprising nurses and Dr's left and right. Everyone who crossed paths with him, loved him. He had the best personality. Just days before today he was up playing and cooing.

Then yesterday hit. He hadn't felt well for about 2 days. His primary nurse had him yesterday. She came and knew something was wrong. They got xrays. He looked OK. We thought maybe something with his g-tube and they stopped feeds. About an hour later, his stomach was distended. We got more xrays and he had free air. They rushed him to emergency surgery.

What they found, shocked us all. He had perforated bowel. They had to remove most of his large intestine, washed him out and gave him an ostomy. He came back upstairs to heal... but he was just to weak and couldn't. The rest of his bowel started to die and we were told he won't make it past the day.

We have to get him home to Idaho (from Seattle). We will hold services so his brothers and sisters can say goodbye... as well as his family and friends. We would love to create a memorial spot that the kids and us can visit and talk to him anytime we want.

He fought hard! Right till the end. Our little fire dragon. We love you more than you'll ever know.
