Fund journal in support of Galway Rape Crisis Centre
Donation protected
ROPES Literary Journal is a not-for-profit, international literary magazine published annually by the MA Literature & Publishing programme at the University of Galway. Our journal is a home for new and established writers of poetry and prose, as well as visual artists.
Donations to this fundraiser will go towards the production cost of the 33rd issue of the journal. As a charitable publication, we are honoured to distribute all profits for this year's issue to Galway Rape Crisis Centre.
Founded in 1984, Galway Rape Crisis Centre works tirelessly towards lessening the impact and incidence of sexual violence and abuse throughout local communities. GRCC provides short and long-term counselling to adults and adolescents who have experienced rape, sexual assault, child sexual abuse and other forms of sexual violence. Through their helpline, GRCC offers support to regular clients, supporters of survivors, and those who wish to talk about issues relating to sexual violence or sexual abuse.
GRCC additionally advocates institutionally for an end to sexual violence through committees such as the NUIG Consent Framework Implementation Committee and Awareness Training Subcommittee and the National Advisory Committee (on ending sexual violence on college campuses) and the Cultural Change Subcommittee. Learn more about the GRCC's vital work here .
The ROPES website and Instagram are great resources for staying updated on the progress of our editorial, production, and fundraising efforts. We are thrilled to be a part of the proud legacy of ROPES, and we thank you for your support over the next year.
