In honor of Makenzie Leikam, who was taken too soon in a car accident on June 22, 2013, the Leikam family is celebrating Makenzie fest in her honor on August 19, 2023. Makenzie’s love for music and dance will be celebrated at Centennial Center park, 13050 E. Peakview Ave. Centennial, CO 80111 from 12pm-9pm, please BYOB, chairs and come and go as you please.
We need your help to make this day a success! Consider this your invitation, suggested donation amount is $20. All proceeds up to $1800 will go towards scholarships for the South Metro Safety Foundation teen crash avoidance skills course. Each scholarship is $180 to hopefully provide 10 new scholarships to teens interested in this program.
Additional donations once we hit our $1800 goal will go towards security and production for Makenzie fest. Additional funds not used for Makenzie fest will continue to support the Leikam’s dream of ongoing scholarships for the South Metro Safety Foundation.
Our mission is to help young drivers learn to value the responsibility instilled in them when they get behind the wheel. We will sponsor new young drivers to participate in an additional driver’s education class designed to better prepare them for unforeseen circumstances while on the road. We want to help prevent accidents and save lives!
Thank you for your support and hope you can join us to celebrate this 19 year old’s life that ended too abruptly but we will continue to cherish her memory through music, family and love.

Message from parents Natalie and Dave: Makenzie was our "flower child" with a deep love of music and of living life to the fullest. She truly loved life, music, family and friends. She told us just before she died that her dream was to someday have her own festival so she could spread her joy and love to as many people as she could through music. We are finally making that dream a reality with Makenzie's Dream Festival. We are so excited and can't wait to see everyone there!
