California Fire Victims

Donation protected
As of this morning the update on the California fire is that 141,000 acres have burned and it is 40% contained. My brother Nick Riportella and his wife Olivia received confirmation that their home was burned to ashes. The fire wasn’t expected to come to their area, but when high winds picked up they had to leave quickly with only their dog and vehicles. Nick worked hard on completely building the tiny home himself, and because of this he was unable to find anyone who would insure it. They have nothing left after the fire, and I know ANY donation would be greatly appreciated.  Everything has to be replaced. The things like towels, sheets, dishes, furniture, and clothes can all be replaced, but there are irreplaceable items that bring saddness to them.  Prayers for comfort, peace, and direction for what to do moving forward are requested as well.  They are heart broken but find comfort in knowing most of these material things can be replaced and they are safe. Nick posted about losing his home this morning and said, “I have the God who redeems as my Savior and I have absolutely nothing to fear from this shortage. I lack no good thing.” ❤️

My dad reminded us to pray Is 61:3and provide for those who grieve in Zion-- to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor.
