Help Quin Recover

Donation protected
Just before 5 pm on Tuesday, May 18th, 2021, a grain storage building exploded in Mountain Home, Idaho. My brother-in-law, Quin, was in a crawl space/tunnel finishing up a welding job when the blast happened. Word-of-mouth accounts have led us to believe that he crawled out immediately to get himself out. One of his co-workers helped him out as he rightfully and understandably began to panic, asking if he was “done.” He wanted to know if he still had lips, ears, his beard, etc. Around this time, Quin called his wife and my sister, Jaida, to let her know what had happened. We eventually learned that he was taken by ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, the next city over. Once the adrenaline started to die down, the pain set in. Quin called Jaida again to update her, but with the help of a nurse holding his phone for him since he couldn’t. Soon after, we received word that he was going to be life-flighted to a specialized burn center in Idaho Falls.

The next morning, Jaida heard from the burn team at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. He was placed under a medically induced coma and is estimated to be under for about a month. He was also scheduled to undergo his first set of skin grafts this afternoon. He will have to undergo quite a few of these procedures, but we're not sure of how many at this time. It will all depend on his vital stability during each procedure.

As of right now, we have no idea how long he’ll be in the hospital, or what the bill will look like. However, Jaida is a stay-at-home parent of four and not currently working. The youngest of which, she just gave birth to only two months ago. Among their children are Jamie (9), Sophia (8), Kieran (1), and Kelly (2 months).

These funds would help Jaida and their kids, tremendously. Jaida will have to travel to Idaho Falls, with Kelly in tow, so that she can continue to breastfeed. Jamie and Sophia will likely stay behind with me, their Aunt, since they are still finishing school.

Before and after photos of the building can be found in the local news article: https://www.ktvb.com/article/news/local/mountain-home-grain-silo-explosion/277-3999133a-3adb-44d9-a655-ed1e6023539e

We would greatly appreciate any and all help. Even if you’re unable to donate, please share.

Thank you,

Update: 6/18/2023
Hello everyone, I just wanted to say thank you for all your help in the past. I (Jaida Spruell) am very grateful for everyone of you that has helped me and my family. (Quin's family) This has helped my family exponentially with all the medical bills, medical supplies, things for the kids and everything inbetween. We are still going through a lot and we both hope God blesses you all for your kindness. You don't know how much this all means to me and Quin and the kids. Thank you so much. With love, Jaida Spruell
